Krazy Kory And The Vikings Game

Diary Entry For September 14, 2008

When I pulled into work on Friday morning, I was surprised to see this truck hung up in the gravel and blocking access to the Nor-Tech warehouse.  Apparently the driver came in through the wrong entrance and ran into trouble when he tried to make the turn.

We eventually had to call a tow truck to lift the truck off the rocks.  It actually ended up being rather uneventful.  However, I enjoyed this picture of our Director of Operations, Larry Hanson, watching them working on the truck so I just had to tell you this story.  Looking good, Larry!

On Saturday morning, the Shortarmguy family woke up early and drove to Como Park to participate in a fundraiser for Camp Odayin.

The Heart & Sole Fundraiser is a fun run/walk around Como Park Lake.  We did the 2.5 Kilometer walk instead of the 5 kilometer Fun Run.  My fat butt was very tired after the first 2.5 kilometers, so I didn’t think it sounded “Fun” at all to try to go for another lap around the lake.  Pretty misleading advertising if you ask me.

On Saturday night, our old pals Krazy Kory and Krazy Kelli came to town for a visit.    Kory then surprised us by inflating a life sized replica of his son, Ben, seen here in the grey Iowa T-shirt.  Doesn’t he look real?

We played Guitar Hero, had a Ping Pong tournament and walked the dog to the lake.  We then stayed up way past our bedtimes and even watched a Rated R movie!  Nobody can ever say that we’re not wild and crazy people!

The reason the Madsons came to town was to go to the Minnesota Vikings/ Indianapolis Colts game on Sunday.

The reason I came to the game was to see the Vikings Cheerleaders.  They asked if they could have a picture taken with me and I was happy to oblige!

The reason the cheerleaders were outside the Metrodome before the game was because they were selling their brand new swimsuit calendars.  I can’t think of anything clever to say about this, but wanted to post this picture because I enjoy it.

The game was quite a let down.  The Vikings dominated the first 3 quarters, but couldn’t figure out a way to get any touchdowns.  They racked up 5 field goals to go up on the Colts 15-0.  Peyton Manning then decided he was fed up with losing and led his team back to an 18 – 15 win.  It’s really depressing to be a Vikings fan.

Quote of the Week

“You are younger today than you will ever be again. Make use of it for the sake of tomorrow.”

– Norman Cousins, editor

Jokes of the Week

I was talking to a friend of mine’s little girl, and she said she wanted to be President some day.  Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, “If you were President what would be the first thing you would do?”

She replied, “I’d give houses to all the homeless people.”

“Wow – what a worthy goal.” I told her, “You don’t have to wait until you’re President to do that. You can come over to my house and mow, pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I’ll pay you $50.  Then I’ll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use toward a new house.”

She thought that over for a few seconds ’cause she’s only 6. And while her Mom glared at me, she looked me straight in the eye and asked, “Why doesn’t the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?”

And I said, “Welcome to the Republican Party.”

Her folks still aren’t talking to me.

As we age, we tend to end up seeing more of the medical establishment.

For example, my internist referred me to a female urologist.

I saw her yesterday, and she is gorgeous.

She’s beautiful and unbelievably sexy.

She told me that I have to stop masturbating.

I asked her why and she said,

“Because I’m trying to examine you.”
