Gets a Flu Shot

October 11, 2009. Shortarmguy gets a Flu Shot.
On Monday afternoon, we had a visit from our old buddy, Shawn Hogendorf, from the Prior Lake American. He came over to interview Luke for this article about Luke’s experience meeting Louie Anderson. Shawn also told us about another of his recent stories which can be read here about a missing Wallaby in nearby Savage, Minnesota. I don’t know about the rest of you, but if I happened to stumble upon a Wallaby hopping around in Savage, I’d swear that I was having Flashbacks to the Sixties! And I wasn’t even born until 1970!
On Monday night, we were joined by our friends the Hornbuckles and Tim Ashland to watch those Minnesota Vikings take on their rivals, the Green Bay Packers. Sadly we had so much fun I really don’t remember who won the game.
On Tuesday night, our Cub Scout Den packed in the back of the van to distribute flyers letting our neighbors know that we were doing a food drive.
On Saturday morning, we went out again to collect the bags of goodies that would soon be headed to help feed the hungry. I was pretty impressed that despite the bad economy our den alone collected more than 20 bags of groceries. There sure a lot of good people out there in the world!
Luke became a Junior Naturalist at school which gave him a chance to sell environmental calendars. If there’s one thing my boys don’t get to do enough of, it’s fund raisers! We just love selling stuff to people who don’t want the stuff we’re selling!
The weather is getting colder and the days are getting shorter but for some reason our dang dog still wants to go to the dog park. The boys brought the flash lights to help us to watch the paths for dog crap. The piles are really hard to see in the dark.
Grandma Linda is hoping that if they ever make a sequel to the movie The Coneheads, they’ll give her a call to audition for a part in it.
One of my favorite things at the Dog Park is that no matter how big you are or how silly you look, you can still be a tough guy!

Shortarmguy.com will be undergoing some changes in the coming weeks.

I’ve been wanting to convert my website to a better blogging platform for years, but considering I’ve been building this site one page at a time every week for more than10 years now, it’s become a bit unwieldy.  I haven’t figured out a good way to install a better blogging platform on to the front page of this site and still leave my existing pages intact.  If any of you skilled webmasters out there want to help me figure out a good way to do this, I’d certainly be willing to pay you for your time.  Please email me at shortarmguy@aol.com to discuss your ideas.  In the meantime, visit my new site for the same weekly content you’ve been used to except now I’ll be updating it daily!

The new website address is:

Thanks so much for visiting my site!!!
